I can login but later on I see same symptoms as others, cannot login via
any means - lightdm, ssh, text virtual console. No errors it's just
stuck after I enter password.

It seems that the problem was fixed, at least I don't see it anymore,
not sure when it went away (don't reboot very often). This is for two
different machines running latest Ubuntu:

kernel: 3.8.0-27-generic #40-Ubuntu SMP x86_64
release: Ubuntu 13.04 raring
