I notice that there seems to be also problem with my realtek network card. During kernel updates I see messages complaining about missing firmeware. System still freezes with 3.11-saucy. I setup a netconsole. It captured things like connect/disconnect usb device, or closing the laptop display and using external monitor. Also when the system reboots it captures log entries. But in the moment the system freezes (about 4 h after boot) again nothing was captured. So far I understand, that when my system freezes nothing can be logged or debugged. The memory usage in this case increases from less then 1GB to more than 3GB (on total 8GB Ram) - I do not know if this is relevant - but maybe. I observe the situation for more than two months. As I use my system for work I have freezes one or two times a day - mostly when I have much work ;-) I develop JEE server business applications - so in the situation when the system freezes there is really no heavy graphic load. penalvch: is there any chance to provide you with the necessary information without installing the Saucy Daily Build? This is my work PC, and at the moment one freeze a day is not as bad as a complete re- install of my system. So if I can provide you with additional information from my current system I will do. I also can test drm-intel- nightly builds of the kernel if this helps? rsoika, for now, instead of the Saucy daily test, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Please do not test the daily folder, but the one all the way at the bottom. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags: kernel-fixed-upstream kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested.
