Title:
  Firmware Bug

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
I'm getting some error messages that I'd like to report.

I'm running an HP Pavillion p7-1235 with Ubuntu 12.10 (quantal),
3.5.0-26-generic (#42-Ubuntu SMP Fri Mar 8 23:18:20 UTC 2013), and the KDE
shell through Kubuntu.
The box has an AMD A8-5500 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics, 4 CPUs @ 3.2 GHz
, 2 megs L2 cache and 7.4 gigs of memory. It's a UEFI boot, not a BIOS boot.
I bought the box with Win7 on it and my kid computer science major converted
it to dual boot (GRUB). I only boot to Windows when I need to print something,
Linux won't recognize my printer.

The box boots to Linux apparently normally and aside from problems with Skype
and my printer I see no issues. I am not a power user, mostly word processing
& browsing.
When the box goes to sleep and then I move the mouse I often get a list of
"Firmware Bug" messages before the enter password box appears. I cannot figure
out how to capture these to a text file because they're system output to me and
not output I've requested and could pipe to a text file.
The messages come in bunches of four. The first message reads something like
"[Firmware Bug] CPU1 Try to use APIC500 (LVT Offset 0) for vector 0x400 but the
register is already in use for the vector 0xf9 on another CPU ". The second
and third are identical except CPU1 is replaced by CPU2 and then CPU3.
The forth line in the set of four is in the format "2 3 1 cannot set
frequency 16000 to ep0x86" where 2 3 1 can be almost any combination i.e. 2 3
3, 2 3 2, 2 3 4, etc. and 16000 can be replaced by 24000 or 48000.

I see ABSOLUTELY no problem with the performance of my computer
following the appearance of these firmware bug messages. However as
above I'm no power user. If you'd like more information please let me
know. If you tell me how to pipe these messages to a text I'll try
  it.
