[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1197869] Re: Thinkpad T430u randomly locks up/freezes
bmaupin, could you please confirm this issue exists with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ . If the issue remains, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p linux replace-with-bug-number ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete ** Tags added: bios-outdated-2.08 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1197869 Title: Thinkpad T430u randomly locks up/freezes Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: System randomly locks up completely. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1197869] Re: Thinkpad T430u randomly locks up/freezes
I fixed this problem for my Lenovo E531 by upgrading to kernel 3.9 or 3.10 (both work for me) using the Ubuntu mainline kernels [ http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/ ]. However, the Broadcom wireless driver bcmwl-kernel-source in the repos is not the latest version and fails to work on kernels newer than 3.8, so I had to update that too with the latest .deb file [ http://packages.ubuntu.com/saucy/amd64/bcmwl-kernel-source/download ]. My system now works well. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1197869 Title: Thinkpad T430u randomly locks up/freezes Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: System randomly locks up completely.
