Public bug reported: I have VIA EPIA12000EG motherboard and Hauppauge NOVA-T500 dual DVB-T tuner PCI card. Internally the NOVA-T500 card has two USB tuners connected to an internal USB hub. For some reason Ubuntu kernel identifies the USB hub as USB1.1 hub when it is USB2.0 hub. The DVB-T cards refuse to work with USB1.1 hub and become inoperable.
I have Debian on another disk on the same machine, and Debian kernel (and also Fedora kernel) correctly identifies the USB hub and the tuner cards work. I have also installed Debian kernel package to the Ubuntu system, and if I boot to debian kernel in my Ubuntu system, then the cards work. For some reason ubuntu-bug refuses to work on this machine and I also cannot attach files (in both cases the upload freeses and times out), so I will try to attach apport file from other computer. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1210018 Title: Hauppauge NOVA-T500 card does not with Ubuntu on VIA EPIA12000EG motherboard Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I have VIA EPIA12000EG motherboard and Hauppauge NOVA-T500 dual DVB-T tuner PCI card.
