steel8, as per http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers an update is available for your BIOS (1.35). If you update to this, does it change anything? If not, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command: sudo dmidecode -s bios-version sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. Here's the output: V1.35 04/13/2010 The BIOS change did nothing better - laptop wasn't resuming. The screen was all black, with no reaction on keystrokes. But I found the possible problem. I had laptop-mode on. After disabling it everything came back to normal. The laptop is now resuming normally after suspend.
