[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1247647] Re: Kernel oops during btrfs access

2013-11-04 Thread Joseph Salisbury
Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a
kernel version where you were not having this particular problem? This
will help determine if the problem you are seeing is the result of the
introduction of a regression, and when this regression was introduced.
If this is a regression, we can perform a kernel bisect to identify the
commit that introduced the problem.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1247647] Re: Kernel oops during btrfs access

2013-11-04 Thread Joseph Salisbury
We can perform a kernel bisect to try and identify the commit that
introduced this regression. Would you be able to install some test
kernels on this machine?

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1247647] Re: Kernel oops during btrfs access

2013-11-04 Thread Joseph Salisbury
To start a bisect, we first need to identify the last good kernel
version and first bad kernel version. Can you test the following two
kernels:

v3.10 final: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.10-saucy/
v3.11 final: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.11-saucy/

They can be installed by installing the linux-image .deb package and
rebooting.
