I was having the same issue after I had to hard reset on system lockup on 3.15.1 mainline. cat /var/log/pm-suspend.log revealed the following. The behavior is still the same after I updated the BIOS (which was quite a pain, by the way because the Lenovo BIOS update ISO only works on CDs and cannot be booted from USB drives. Thus I had to install Windows to install the update and then install Ubuntu again). Here is the output that you wanted to have: GJET75WW (2.25 ) 03/28/2014 As I said, nothing has changed. Sometimes (not always) when going to suspsend, the screen goes dark, the LEDs indicate suspend mode and the cpu seems to be working so that the device gets very hot very fast. This is why I think the bug should have a higher importance level than Low because it can lead to the device overheating. It is not possible to recover the system from that state. If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BiosUpdate does it change anything? If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command: sudo dmidecode -s bios-version sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful.
