[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1362046] Re: kernel module (sony-laptop)

2015-02-20 Thread Joseph Salisbury
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v3.19 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot,
please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as
"Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1362046] Re: kernel module (sony-laptop)

2014-08-29 Thread Frank Slezak
In response to KasiyA's comment (#20):

The kernel was successfully installed and tested. It did not solve the
problem.

Debugging Transcript: http://chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/16794

The only hitch that happened is that the nVidia DKMS modules did nut
build again 3.17.

Details on AU at this link: http://askubuntu.com/questions/517024/error-
on-installing-upstream-kernel/

I also marked this bug as confirmed.

"Laptop Keyboard Backlight not turning off"

I had a problem with keyboard backlight that I asked in askUbuntu.com (here
http://askubuntu.com/questions/475711/turn-off-keyboard-back-light-sony-vaio-svf1521dcxw)
and also I have followed in chat with @Mew (here
http://chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/16735) and We tried all solution to
fixing my issue and we can not fix that. I found some patch
(http://www.absence.it/vaio-acpi/source/patches/) for fixing this problem but
then I need to create a custom kernel for myself and it's so hard for me.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1362046] Re: kernel module (sony-laptop)

2014-08-27 Thread Joseph Salisbury
Did this issue occur in a previous version of Ubuntu, or is this a new
issue?

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v3.17 kernel[0].
