Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.18 kernel[0]. 1. When resuming from S3, there is only black screen(not 'no signal'). But, we can recover it by 'xset dpms force off ; xset dpms force on'. 2. There is no any error or warning message on the dmesg or Xorg. 3. This issue looks like the monitor state stays in blank (the monitor is on) after resuming from S3. But, the 'xset dpms force on' can not recovery this state. We need to do 'xset dpms force off' before 'xset dpms force on'. We only found that the intel graphic register is different after this issue happened. The attached file is the tar.bz2 of the output of 'intel_reg_dumper'. There are two files in the tar.bz2: intel_reg.dump: we get this data after booting. intel_reg.blank.dump: we get this data after this issue happened. The intel_reg_snapshot causes the system hung.
