Title:
Alps TouchPad not recognized by kernel

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
  Expected behavior:
  Two-finger scrolling, multi-touch, etc

  Actual behavior:
  Regular dumb touchpad

  Detail:
dmesg|grep ALPS dumps psmouse serio3: alps: Unknown ALPS touchpad: E7=73 03

  WORKAROUND: DKMS patching from https://github.com/he1per/psmouse-dkms-
alpsv7 . This patch seems to be included in 3.17 onwards, but 3.16 and
below I need to DKMS. Perhaps a backport?

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1418134] Re: Alps TouchPad not recognized by kernel

2015-02-05 Thread Joseph Salisbury
I'm not sure if that is the correct commit. It's been in the kernel
since 3.13-rc4:

git describe --contains 754ac45745711a7ce0067087e5b55a9c277952ad
v3.13-rc4~42

I'll take a look at the commits in 3.17 and see if any stick out.

We could also perform a Reverse bisect to identify the commit.
