[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1446410] Re: ubuntu 14.04 does not call iscsistart to login to iscsi boot target

2015-04-23 Thread Joseph Salisbury
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v4.0 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot,
please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as
Confirmed.

Thanks in advance.

2015-04-23 Thread minh tran
in response to comment #5
This is not a kernel problem but rather a init script problem with initrd not
executing `iscsistart` command to login to iscsi boot target. If you read bug
description above, you will see there is a workaround by manually running this
command on 14.04. I know sles11sp3/rhel6.1 or later are working even though
their kernels are older than v4.0.

Do you happen to know if this issues also happens in releases newer than 14.04?
No, we have not tested other versions.
