Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.1 kernel[0]. I have installed 4.1 and ran the smart test. The kernel seems that is not crashing but many errors are found in the log (see the attachment).
