[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1574102] Re: Regression (constant vibration of device) in xpad driver in Ubuntu 16.04
This bug is awaiting verification that the kernel in -proposed solves the problem. Please test the kernel and update this bug with the results. If the problem is solved, change the tag 'verification-needed- xenial' to 'verification-done-xenial'. If verification is not done by 5 working days from today, this fix will be dropped from the source code, and this bug will be closed. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. The fix from paroj's repo works for me. Can we get this backported? Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.6 kernel[0]. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed". Thanks in advance. The symptoms are the same as outlined in https://github.com/paroj/xpad/issues/27. (I believe that github user submits xpad patches to upstream.) If I compile the f23507b version from that git repo, the problem resolves. This was not an issue on 15.10. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1574102] Re: Regression (constant vibration of device) in xpad driver in Ubuntu 16.04
You'll see an "URB submitted while active" error in my dmesg when running the older driver. These messages were frequent on previous Ubuntu releases. I think the current patches were to "fix" this, but seem to have prompted the regression. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1574102 Title: Regression (constant vibration of device) in xpad driver in Ubuntu 16.04 Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Since upgrading to 16.04, I cannot launch Saints Row 2 or 3 from Steam without constant vibration from my Xbox360 controller.
