[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1590650] Re: Noisy white turquoise shadows in colors and since Xenial
I have the box at the new place now where it is set up slightly differently in terms of screen connection. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1590650] Re: Noisy white turquoise shadows in colors and since Xenial
Even on the old Kernel, it also doesn't show up via HDMI on my Screen (BenQ GL2760). That said I'd think the issue is more in my TV that I had connected before Panasonic TX-P42GW20 than our graphics driver. Closing the bug as Won't fix as we don't have to take care of devices not behaving :-) Thanks for the support so far! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1590650 Title: Noisy white turquoise shadows in colors and since Xenial Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Won't Fix Bug description: Hi, since the upgrade to Xenial I've had graphic issues on my NAS/HTPC box. I'll need physical access to the box again to restest this - that will be in about two weeks from now. I'll test whatever mainline is newest then. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1590650] Re: Noisy white turquoise shadows in colors and since Xenial
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.7-rc1 kernel[0]. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed". Thanks in advance. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1590650] Re: Noisy white turquoise shadows in colors and since Xenial
** Attachment added: "screenshot not showing the issue II" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1590650/+attachment/4680167/+files/noisy-colors-2-screenshot.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1590650 Title: Noisy white turquoise shadows in colors and since Xenial Status in linux package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Hi, since the upgrade to Xenial I've had graphic issues on my NAS/HTPC box. All white is rendered as a noisy grey, and colors have a bunch of bright turquoise pixels. Back then I've reverted to the old 4.2.0-35 kernel I had before and things were fine. The recent update to 4.4.0-22 didn't help, so I decided it is time to debug and fix that since I don't know how much more LTS users might be affected. I lack experience in debugging graphical issues, what are the right next steps? - are there obvious extra debug information sources that might help? - I tried most of the common troubleshooting guides without any effect, let me know if I should tweak any i915 parms or so. - would it be useful to go to a Yakkety kernel, and if this fixing it bisecting from there - if so on what tree - I don't want a full Y upgrade on this box? I made some screenshots, but the issue is not visible there - this might be a hint in itself as it should imply that the error so is "after" the graphics buffer right?
