  booting new 3.19.0-65, monitor stays in power save

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  The last two kernel updates boot but the monitor stays in "power save"
  mode, so i can't do anything from keyboard.  I can login via ethernet.
  The failing upgrades were 3.19.0-64 and 3.19.0-65. Everything works if
  i revert back to 3.19.0-61.  64-bit kernel on dell inspiron 3252

I got a pop up window about EOL and link helped me figure out how
to update to xenial under 14.04.  With the 4.4.0 kernel my monitor
behaves properly.  all is well for now

vivid enablement stack you are using is EOL as of August 2016. Hence,
you would want to at least upgrade to a supported enablement stack
(xenial), and then advise if this is still reproducible.

failing kernel(s)

Bug description:
  The last two kernel updates boot but the monitor stays in "power save"
  mode, so i can't do anything from keyboard.  I can login via ethernet.
  The failing upgrades were 3.19.0-64 and 3.19.0-65. Everything works if
  i revert back to 3.19.0-61.  64-bit kernel on dell inspiron 3252
