Public bug reported:

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad X250 and I was running 16.04 and regularly
using a Panasonic PT-FIV430 FW430 WXGA projector with no issues. Once I
upgraded to 16.10 the operating system no longer detects the projector
through VGA (or if I use a mini-display adapter to connect to the mini-
display port). The projector is not detected at all. I have confirmed
that the VGA port works fine with a external monitor and it also does
not work with a different Panasonic projector model (I didn't take that
model number down).

In close to ten years of Ubuntu use this is the first time I've had
trouble connecting to something through the VGA.

Is there anyway to force this connection? I have to use this projector
in my classroom and I'm currently in a pickle.
