Bug description:
During certification testing on Power8NVL, the network tests for the
Mellanox 40/56G network cards are failing. According to the failure
pasted below, udev/dbus isn't detecting the network card properly, but
NetworkManager is. My feeling is this might be an issue with
  UdevadmParser.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1675091] Re: Mellanox MT27500 Family [ConnectX-3] 40G NIC not being detected by udev

2017-03-23 Thread Rod Smith
I've been looking at this (on and off), and it seems to reach close to
the end of UdevadmParser.run() (in udevadm.py) with the data intact, but
it gets lost in the last line or in transferring control out, in the
main() function of the udev_resource script.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1675091] Re: Mellanox MT27500 Family [ConnectX-3] 40G NIC not being detected by udev

2017-03-22 Thread Joseph Salisbury
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v4.11 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as
"Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.
