I do have the same problem on a ProBook 440 G4. There is a slider for the LED in alsamixer but it doesn't change anything. I added this quirk "SND_PCI_QUIRK(0x103c, 0x81cc, "HP Envy", CXT_FIXUP_MUTE_LED_GPIO)," ... based on commit [1]. Since it doesn't work, please file an upstream bug. Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem?
