[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1706290] Re: Marvell 88W8897 wifi throughput

2017-07-27 Thread sns
kernel-bug-exists-upstream

it happens that many users have the same problem with the chip of 88w8897.
Is it possible for compatibility reasons?
Or because of the RF circuit caused.

  Marvell 88W8897 wifi throughput

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
recently when we use the chip 88w8897 ,we found that there were some
probles abuot the wifi, the topo is as follows:
   88w8897wirelessrouter88w8897
we have two devices which use the chip, when we test the throughput between
the two devices, we found some probles:
1.the throughput of upload is much lower than the download,at the idel
environment, the upload throughput is about 200Mbps but the download throughput
is 350Mbps.
2.when we restart the device and test the throughput between the two
devices, the upload throughput is very low at the first time, then it gos up to
the normal value slowly, sometimes it can't, the value is between 1mbps to
10mbps.

so i want to know how can i fix the two probles, can you help me.

our platform is linux(arm64) ,kernel is 4.4.16 ,the motherboard is

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1706290] Re: Marvell 88W8897 wifi throughput

2017-07-27 Thread Joseph Salisbury
Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a
prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem?

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v4.13 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as
"Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.
