2018-02-05 Thread Bib
The (bad) Artist, v4.15.1. This is awful, how can you get info from this. I set
resolution to highest possible and enabled auto-stabilization.
Don't we have in linux something like the /debug option of windows NT boot.ini
that allows to dump boot to a serial port ?

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1746357] Re: Boot loop MSI A88XM35 AMD APU A8-5600K (Aruba HD7560D)

2018-02-05 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Bib, could you please attach a video of when removing the boot options
while using the latest kernel 4.15.1 (4.15 is slightly older)?

The initramfs section is not relevant at this point given your system is
immediately boot looping.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1746357] Re: Boot loop MSI A88XM35 AMD APU A8-5600K (Aruba HD7560D)

2018-02-05 Thread Bib
Just tried : bootloop in K4.15 without radeon.dpm=0

I still have to check the advise #10 from Christopher about
DebuggingKernel. But I guess I'll fall in another problem : on my
system, /tmp is on another Disk/partition than /, so I think I won't be
able to get the initramfs.debug file that is asked.

I think you should try latest mainline kernel first. There are lots of
radeon fixes since v4.10.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1746357] Re: Boot loop MSI A88XM35 AMD APU A8-5600K (Aruba HD7560D)

2018-02-01 Thread Bib
News : please note that when creating the new stick over the existing
one I wasn't prompted to create persistent storage (maybe the disk-
creator used the one previously created, I don't know, but a new dummy
folder on the desktop in the daily-bionic live once first booted as a
check for this question didn't survive next reboot, so I assume the
whole key is read only).

So : first boot and following ones, after select a space key hit in the splash
screen I now get the semi-graphical menu to select language, keyboard, etc...
First boot I only choose French then Enter : all good to the Ubuntu desktop.
Here I tried to find something special is in /etc/default/grub and don't see
anything. System details just show Aruba for video, but repository manager says
no proprietary is in use.
Next boots just loop (strange)! Only nomodeset or radeo.dpm=0 allow access to
Ubuntu bionic desktop

2018-02-01 Thread Bib
1)Captures attached
2)I'll give a try to this and report.

I'm currently creating another bionic-desktop-amd64 bootable USB stick
from the yet installed 16.04.3 instead of the 14.04 one I used.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1746357] Re: Boot loop MSI A88XM35 AMD APU A8-5600K (Aruba HD7560D)

2018-01-31 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Bib:

1) Regarding the error booting Bionic, could you please capture the
error message via video recorder (cell phone, etc.)? The provided
"repetitive ~CRC32~* or something like that" is not enough information
to debug the issue.

2) Regarding the error booting Bionic, is this the same error message
received when not using the WORKAROUNDs with your current release?

3) Alternatively, could you please test
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/17.10.1/release/ and advise to the
results?

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1746357] Re: Boot loop MSI A88XM35 AMD APU A8-5600K (Aruba HD7560D)

2018-01-31 Thread Bib
I can't boot the system: after selecting the live USB as the boot drive,
a message displays 1s repetitive ~CRC32~* or something like that. Then I
have to type TAB key (nothing on screen drives to this action). Once TAB
key was pressed, I select "live" option, then the system reboots in
seconds. I also tried "help" but before I can read the whole F2-F10 that
keep scrolling up out of the screen at the same rate the ~CRC32~ did,
the installer takes some option the reboots on its own. I also tried F4
but nothing helpful happened.

*BTW, I checked MD5SUM iso download : md5sum bionic-desktop-amd64.iso
was 064ab6173bc942d3327098f57748182e from today (2018-01-29 08:00)
