Hello Joseph, I purchased the laptop recently and installed Ubuntu on it; hence I am not aware how this model worked on Ubuntu before. I tried installing latest kernel but got the attached error during installation. Moreover the system does not let me know and gave errors while reboot. Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem? Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.16 kernel[0].
