[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1780923] Re: linux-gcp: add a meta package for the extra modules

2018-12-03 Thread Po-Hsu Lin
For Cosmic, I saw this has been added:

Package: linux-modules-extra@SUFFIX@
Architecture: amd64
Section: kernel
Depends: ${misc:Depends}, linux-modules-extra-${kernel-abi-version}@SUFFIX@
Description: Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Linux kernel extra modules
This package will always depend on the latest Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
 extra modules package available.

Mark the task as fix released.

Bug description:
Currently the GCP/GKE kernel does not install the extra modules
package by default and there's no easy way to install it other than
installing the specific version package for each kernel version (ie:
  linux-modules-extra-${kernel-abi-version}-gcp).

It's necessary to include a meta pointing to the current binary extra
  modules packages.
