Raven Ridge xHC may fail to suspend, causes the USB stops working, and blocks
the system entering system-wide suspend.

  [Fix]
It's a hardware/firmware bug, workarounded by bailing out suspend function if
it ever fails, and reset the xHC in next resume function.

  [Test]
After applying the patch, the USB works, and the system can enter S3
consecutively.

  [Regression Potential]
Minimal. This workaround only applies to AMD Raven Ridge xHC.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1806838] Re: Workaround CSS timeout on AMD SNPS 3.0 xHC

2019-01-15 Thread Brad Figg
This bug is awaiting verification that the kernel in -proposed solves
the problem. Please test the kernel and update this bug with the
results. If the problem is solved, change the tag 'verification-needed-
cosmic' to 'verification-done-cosmic'. If the problem still exists,
change the tag 'verification-needed-cosmic' to 'verification-failed-
cosmic'.

If verification is not done by 5 working days from today, this fix will
be dropped from the source code, and this bug will be closed.

See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how
to enable and use -proposed. Thank you!

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1806838] Re: Workaround CSS timeout on AMD SNPS 3.0 xHC

2018-12-07 Thread Brad Figg
This bug is awaiting verification that the kernel in -proposed solves
the problem. Please test the kernel and update this bug with the
results. If the problem is solved, change the tag 'verification-needed-
bionic' to 'verification-done-bionic'. If the problem still exists,
change the tag 'verification-needed-bionic' to 'verification-failed-
bionic'.

If verification is not done by 5 working days from today, this fix will
be dropped from the source code, and this bug will be closed.

See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how
to enable and use -proposed. Thank you!
