  Hi, Ubuntu

  First of all,

  Ubuntu Version: 18.04.3 LTS
  Kernel Version: linux-image-5.0.0-37-generic
  H/W Info:
  Processor - AMD Phenom II X3 720
  Chipset - NVIDIA GeForce 8200

  Package Repository: JAIST (JP)

Summary: A problem with Linux kernel linux-image-5.3.0-26-generic

Today, I got a notice from update manager that there are some upgrade
  packages.

So, I did press the button 'Upgrade'.

After the upgrade, I reboot the machine and login as usual via gdm.

To run web browser, I clicked Firefox icon but got stuck, also other
  apps like Settings.

I did investigate what packages have updated and found out that the
kernel package has upgraded to 5.3.0-26 from 5.0.0-37

So, I did boot up my machine with 5.0.0-37 instead 5.3.0-26 and the
  machine works very well.

I hereby request you to investigate kernel package 5.3.0-26.

  Thank you

Hi Kai-Heng,

First of all, I'm sorry for the late response..

and.. I may need to tell you that I'm just a user, not a developer.

It is hard to install new kernel for testing to me.

Also, I have no skill for GRUB bootloader.

I beg your pardon.

Hi everyone,

I did upgrade kernel packages to 5.3.0-28 yesterday and boot up with it.

Unfortunately, however, still nothing...

So, I switched back the kernel to 5.0.0-37.

In my thoughts, this is caused by entire 5.3.0 kernel...

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1860253] Re: After kernel upgrade, the screen has got stuck when in running programs on GUI.

2020-01-26 Thread F.G.
Hi there,

FYI: I'm not sure, but maybe my PC is also affected from the same problem.
Freezing and unresponsive for some Minutes. Then working again for some Minutes.
I did not find any useful in the log-files.
But switch back Kernel from 5.3.0-26 to 5.0.0-37 seems to fix this.

Hi, Ubuntu

I did try to run the command as you told, but failed.

Because the command tried to open up a new browser window but didn't
work and got stuck.

I want to provide the logs to reproduce the symptom but, can't for that
reason.

Thank you
