[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1950721] Re: Re-enable CONFIG_PINCTRL_ELKHARTLAKE
** Changed in: hwe-next Status: New => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux-intel-5.13 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1950721 Title: Re-enable CONFIG_PINCTRL_ELKHARTLAKE Status in HWE Next: Fix Released Status in linux-intel-5.13 package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: We have test BIOS now for supporting pinctrl. From what we learnt, ODMs also got the BIOS fix, it's now time to re-enable this kernel config. [Impact] Without this fix, pinctrl functionality will be missing. [Test plan] 1. Make sure the computer has a BIOS that supports pinctrl for EHL 2. Before installing the new kernel, GPIO should not work 3. Install the new kernel, and confirm GPIO works [Where problems could occur] If the computer does not have a BIOS that support pinctrl, you will get an error like "kernel NULL pointer dereference in intel_pinctrl_get_soc_data" during system boot. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1950721] Re: Re-enable CONFIG_PINCTRL_ELKHARTLAKE
This bug is awaiting verification that the linux- intel-5.13/5.13.0-1008.8 kernel in -proposed solves the problem. Please test the kernel and update this bug with the results. If the problem is solved, change the tag 'verification-needed-focal' to 'verification- done-focal'. If the problem still exists, change the tag 'verification- needed-focal' to 'verification-failed-focal'. If verification is not done by 5 working days from today, this fix will be dropped from the source code, and this bug will be closed. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Thank you! ** Tags added: verification-needed-focal -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux-intel-5.13 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1950721 Title: Re-enable CONFIG_PINCTRL_ELKHARTLAKE Status in HWE Next: New Status in linux-intel-5.13 package in Ubuntu: Fix Committed Bug description: We have test BIOS now for supporting pinctrl.
