[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1978416] Re: External USB webcam is not working
Moral of the story: Don't buy Hikvision webcams if you're a Linux user. They work just fine on Windows and Mac systems. I really can't believe a webcam can freeze the entire system including in-browser applications. Hikvision states that their webcams are compatible with Linux but, I'll be the judge of that. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux-signed-hwe-5.13 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1978416 Title: External USB webcam is not working Status in linux-signed-hwe-5.13 package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Hello, I'm trying to connect Hikvision DS-U02 USB Webcam. Update: It was the issue with the webcam firmware, I contacted Hikvision and they were not able to fix it. I returned it and bought different webcam from Logitech.
