Title:
  Suspend Broken

Status in linux-signed-lowlatency package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  When I go to suspend my system via the UI "Suspend" option, the system
  fails to suspend. Instead it looks like its going to suspend, and then
  wakes up but with a locked screen.

  When I use `pm-suspend` from the command line, it suspends the system,
  but does not lock the screen. I have the Settings -> Privacy -> Screen
  Lock -> "Lock Screen on Suspend" setting enabled.

  I am using the Nouveau driver, with Wayland, using GNOME 44.2.
  This bug only started when I switched away from using any of the NVIDIA
drivers, so its probably partially Nouveau related. Switching back to the
NVIDIA drivers (I tried them all) isn't an option, because they break:
  1. External monitor connectivity
  2. VMWare Horizon

  Debug info:

  1. `lsb_release -rd`
  Description:  Ubuntu 23.04
  Release:  23.04

  2. `uname -srm`
  Linux 6.2.0-1007-lowlatency x86_64

  Please let me know of any other information needed to debug this.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 2026652] Re: Suspend Broken

2023-10-04 Thread Maciek Sakrejda
Thanks for filing this. I'm also seeing similar behavior (suspend
appears to work, but wakes up immediately to a locked screen). I'm also
on nouveau drivers.

$ uname -srm
Linux 6.2.0-34-generic x86_64

$ lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS
Release:22.04

Also happy to provide any other info.

2023-07-15 Thread Marlen T. B.
Currently running this script to sleep my computer as a workaround.

```bash
#!/usr/bin/env bash
# sleep.sh
cat $(basename "$0")
# See https://askubuntu.com/a/1126678
# The sleep is necessary to make sure the screen locks before suspend
sudo ls >/dev/null && # caches sudo permissions
  dbus-send \
--type=method_call \
--dest=org.gnome.ScreenSaver \
/org/gnome/ScreenSaver org.gnome.ScreenSaver.Lock \
  & sleep 2 && sudo pm-suspend
[Kernel-packages] [Bug 2026652] Re: Suspend Broken
2023-07-12 Thread Marlen T. B.
I'd love to hear if anyone has any suggestions around this, since its a
hardware risk if I can't sleep my computer, or a security risk if I `pm-
suspend` it and it doesn't lock.
[Kernel-packages] [Bug 2026652] Re: Suspend Broken
2023-07-09 Thread Marlen T. B.
I updated by BIOS version from BHCN44WW to BHCN45WW, and this did not
fix the problem.
Title:
  Suspend Broken
Status in linux-signed-lowlatency package in Ubuntu:
  New
Bug description:
  When I go to suspend my system via the UI "Suspend" option, the system
  fails to suspend. Instead it looks like its going to suspend, and then
  wakes up but with a locked screen.
  When I use `pm-suspend` from the command line, it suspends the system,
  but does not lock the screen. I have the Settings -> Privacy -> Screen
  Lock -> "Lock Screen on Suspend" setting enabled.
  I am using the Nouveau driver, with Wayland, using GNOME 44.2.
  This bug only started when I switched away from using any of the NVIDIA
drivers, so its probably partially Nouveau related. Switching away from NVIDIA
drivers (I tried them all) isn't an option, because they break:
  1. External monitor connectivity
  2. VMWare Horizon
  Debug info:
  1. `lsb_release -rd`
  Description:  Ubuntu 23.04
  Release:  23.04
  2. `uname -srm`
  Linux 6.2.0-1007-lowlatency x86_64
  Please let me know of any other information needed to debug this.
