[Kernel-packages] [Bug 814894] Re: [Fit-PC2i] Kernel hangs on high network throughput
After the latest crash apport asked if I wanted to send a problem report. Since it appears apport cannot attach the new information to an existing report, the additional information is in bug report number 1210092. Does this provide the information you need? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/814894 Title: [Fit-PC2i] Kernel hangs on high network throughput Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: If A Fit-PC2i receives more than 200Mbit/s of network traffic the kernel will hang. Cursor stops blinking, machine doesn't respond to keyboard and mouse input, no longer responds to ARP requests or any other network traffic. The problem is triggered every time a 10.04.3 system with kernel version 2.6.32-33-generic receives more than 200Mbit/s of network traffic. The bug affects both live system as well as fully installed system. The bug can be reproduced by downloading a 1GB file from a server on the LAN. The bug is only triggered if more than 200Mbit/s is transfered. If any link on the path between client and server is 100Mbit/s or less the bug cannot be reproduced. The 8.04.4 live system is not affected by this problem and can receive 600Mbit/s without problems on the same hardware. Marking this as a security problem because it can in principle be used to perform a DoS attack.
