Re: [Kicad-developers] rc3

2018-07-05 Thread Andrey Kuznetsov
Hi guys,

I just tried RC3 nightly on macOS, previously I was having issues
previously with eeschema inconsistent zoom levels and speed of panning and
zooming.
I tried it today and even in high resolution mode at 3200x1800, eeschema
panning and zooming is quite tolerable and there is no more zoom
inconsistencies.
I'd have to say that this user interface annoyance is gone and makes KiCAD
usable on MacOS.

Thank you for making speed improvements, I don't know which commit fixed
it, between 5.0.0-rc2-dev-30-geb94d2f and 5.0.0-rc3-dev-2-g101b68b

Ah, I see. I meant a tarball of the output of the 5.0.0-rc3 tag.
Something like http://docs.kicad-pcb.org/ has.

[Kicad-developers] rc3 tagged

2018-06-30 Thread Wayne Stambaugh
I just tagged and pushed rc3. The source archive can be downloaded from:

https://launchpad.net/kicad/5.0/5.0.0-rc3/+download/kicad-5.0.0-rc3.tar.xz

Stable 5 release, here we come.

Cheers,

Wayne

I will do this when I tag rc3. I think I have done it for every release
tag.

We do have an -rc2 build in the official Fedora Rawhide now, and I'm ready to
step that up to -rc3 once available.

Thanks,

Thanks Rene. I'm going to hold off until tomorrow. There are two bugs
that probably need to be fixed before rc3 is tagged. Hopefully we will
get them resolved quickly.

A few minor corrections would still be nice to get into v5 but we do not
have any deal-breaker that would merit postponing v5 from our side.

This sounds great.

I should be able to make an RC3 build on Monday. The remaining V5
issues on the macOS packaging are mostly things like "Reword the
readme" and "update the background"! Finally! :)
