Re: [Kicad-developers] Looking for volunteers for the website
I have created a twitter account kicad_pcb so we can keep in touch with the users in more ways, know what they're saying, making announcements, etc May be in the future, if getting enough followers, it could be used as another communication tool to ask user for funds. 2012/5/12 Miguel Angel Ajo Pelayo miguelan...@nbee.es And a developer space, with the doxygen links, and SWEET doxygen from the /new part of testing. http://www.kicad-pcb.org/display/DEV/KiCad+Development I've put a little list of the things we're doing, but I'm not aware of everything, so please feel free to add more things, or ask me to add them. Also, please consider that I'm not an English native speaker, so my writing may need some touch ups ;) Greetings, Mike 2012/5/9 Miguel Angel Ajo Pelayo miguelan...@nbee.es woops, permissions were wrong, now the URL can be opened :-) 2012/5/9 Miguel Angel Ajo Pelayo miguelan...@nbee.es http://www.kicad-pcb.org/display/~ajo/2012/05/08/KiCad+Scripting+Branch It seems that it will let us make our own kicad-related blogs :-) 2012/5/8 Miguel Angel Ajo Pelayo miguelan...@nbee.es more life :D, I'm gratefully surprised :-) http://www.kicad-pcb.org/pages/diffpagesbyversion.action?pageId=1212438selectedPageVersions=6selectedPageVersions=5 2012/5/8 Miguel Angel Ajo Pelayo miguelan...@nbee.es Wow, the people on the user mail list is really liking it, even some started to contribute http://www.kicad-pcb.org/pages/viewpreviousversions.action?pageId=1212435 2012/5/4 Miguel Angel Ajo Pelayo miguelan...@nbee.es Thanks a lot Fabio, I did it this morning, but had to wait a little bit to get subscribed on the list :-) 2012/5/4 Fabio Varesano fabio.vares...@gmail.com On 05/04/2012 08:33 AM, Miguel Angel Ajo Pelayo wrote: Anyway, If you find it ok, I'd prefer to discus about software choices with all the volunteers themselves, otherwise we will end with lots of opinions from people not willing to contribute themselves :-) Of course. Re: [Kicad-developers] Looking for volunteers for the website
Hi Fabio, thanks for joining, It's really appreciated. :-) I'm not closed about the software, I have my opinion, but not closed at all, I just chose it because it was easy to maintain, had 0-little development (not taking resources from the kicad project itself), and it's very developer-centered (strongly designed for people that works developing other projects). Anyway, If you find it ok, I'd prefer to discus about software choices with all the volunteers themselves, otherwise we will end with lots of opinions from people not willing to contribute themselves :-) So, once we have a little team we can discus about which options do we have, and weight them all. Cheers, Mike 2012/5/4 Fabio Varesano fabio.vares...@gmail.com http://www.kicad-pcb.org If you wish to contribute, please rise your hand. :-) I would like to contribute.. I strongly believe that having a better website is crucial for greater adoption of KiCAD. Personally tough, even if I really like what is already available on the new website, I don't really support the choice of using a proprietary closed software to run the website. I offer myself to convert what already available at http://www.kicad-pcb.org to a FLOSS platform. My suggestion would be to use Drupal, since I know that it will handle the job pretty well. Interested in hearing your thoughts on this...
