[kicad-users] Is there a feature to allow me to place component on the Solder side

2006-09-27 Thread Dan

I couldn't see where or how I can move SMT components to the solder side
of the PCB. I would like to reduce the size of the PCB and this is one
method I've used before when using another PCB tool. Some of the
terminology is different with this tool, so I might be getting confused
with trying to equate the available commands in KiCad from before.

thanks,
Dan

You should send bug reports to this list (kicad-users@yahoogroups.com) which is
monitored by the developers. Wish list items should be entered here:

http://kicad.bokeoa.com/wiki/index.php/Wish_List

If there is a question not in the help file, ask here and when you get the
answer add it to the wiki faq page (in the appropriate section) here:

[kicad-users] Overlines in net names

2006-09-27 Thread Karl Schmidt
I've seen where one can insert over-lines in pin names with the tildi ('~")
character. It doesn't look like one can do the same for net (or connection)
labels. Am I missing something? There should be a way to do this - I tried the
back-slash character like PADS-PCB uses as well as the tildi with no luck.

I am testing on a Debian Sarge box, running (2006-08-28) - Unicode version

[kicad-users] Re: Defining grid origin in PCBNEW

2006-09-27 Thread Axel Rohde
Hi Renie!

Yes, this is the workaround I mentioned in my previous reply and it's
how I solved my issue. Thanks for the suggestion.

I am just starting to use kicad and my original post was of the kind
"How do I do this and that...?". Since it turns out that there is no
way of redefining the grid origin, this thread has become more of the
kind "This would be a nice little feature to have...". ;-)
It certainly is a very minor feature.

How does communication between the kicad user-basis and its developers
work? Posting at the kicad-developers yahoo-group? Using the wiki?
I saw there is a kicad project registered at sourceforge (
http://sourceforge.net/projects/kicad ), but it isn't active and isn't
owned by Jean-Pierre Charras. Sourceforge is great for managing bug
reports, feature requests, source code (CVS), etc...

Regards,
Axel.
