Re: [kicad-users] Japina.eu OS X build issues

2007-05-04 Thread Boštjan Jerko

Hello Ryan,

I've compiled the ppc port of Kicad and for some reason it only works
on ibook.
I am now in process of writing a script for kicad compilation on Mac
OSX or maybe I should

look into processor selection.
For now I don't have an answer why this happens on other platforms.

Hi all,
I hope I'm not asking a redundant question, but googling and
searching this group's

archives and the unofficial wiki have netted nothing, so here goes:

I recently downloaded the PPC OS X kiCad binaries from japina.eu
and unpacked them. When
I execute kicad from bash (./kicad), the project manager window
opens in the background,
apparently functional, but I am unable to manipulate any of the
controls or drag/resize/etc
the window. The same issue occurs when I launch kicad by
doubleclicking the 'kicad' file in

Finder.

I am using the Japina.eu PPC binary (linked from the main page on
4/29/07, http://
www.japina.eu/podatki/kicad-2007-01-15-ppc.tar.bz2) on a G4
Powerbook running OS

10.4.9 with Developer Tools installed.

Any ideas why I have a running (but apparently non-responsive)
kicad install?

Best,

Ryan

2007-05-04 Thread Matt Brocklehurst

I recently upgraded to Feisty which is the development build of Ubuntu and
its still solid as a rock, what I love is the simplisity that aptitude gives
you (guess its the same on Debian too - but never used it).

sudo apt-get install kicad
 {type privelleged user password}

all done for you, want to change windows manager or upgrade, you can do it
all with aptitude.

Infact i'm so happy with Ubuntu that i've just upgraded the work e-mail
server to run it and ditched exchange, of course im using Edgy and not
Feisty as its more of a pain if something ever did go wrong than my
workstation needing a reset.

good. I haven't used it as much, and the little I have it looks good.

[kicad-users] would someone have a S-100 board layout available in Kicad ?

2007-05-04 Thread Dan

I was hoping someone might have a S-100 board layout available for Kicad.
This is an old style circuit card used in many of the old computers from
the 70's.
Such as Altair, Imsai, Cromemco, etc
If there's some other format available I hope it can be converted to
Kicad still

thanks,
=Dan

This heavily depends on what you need.
Starting with either kde or grome is fine.
If you want to have a look at different window managers (which also mean
that you have to learn now behaviour and shortcuts I'd recommend
wmii which I'm using all the time) ..

Which distro? Have look at ther packages wether they provide what you
need.

Marc
