As Robert mentions, it's pretty easy to do this by making a small turn in the
track from the pad as it reaches the perpendicular track and then a second
short, mirror-image section that turns in the other direction.

[kicad-users] Interconnecting pins in the module editor?

2009-06-22 Thread anders.gustafsson99
I am creating a footprint for a screw terminal. It has one connection for an
eye-terminal. The terminal has four solder lugs. Creating a footprint and
placing four pads is no big deal, but how do I interconnect them? Or
alternatively create one large pad with four holes?

Re: [kicad-users] Interconnecting pins in the module editor?

This one could do with going on a FAQ (if it isn't already). Create a
footprint in the module editor with as many pads as you need, and then
give all the pads the same pin number. Back in the board editor simply
connect the pins together with normal tracks.

Regards,

Robert.

OK. Giving all the same number was somthing I figured out already, but there is
no way to make the interconnection on the actual footprint? Luckily this board
just has 8 of these...

Correct. Of course you could let the autorouter connect together the pads.
