[kicad-users] Plotting without sheet border

Hi

I am after plotting my schematic to a HPGL file so i can import it into front
panel designer.

Is there anyway to disable the sheet border?

Cheers

[kicad-users] PcbNew background color

2009-09-05 Thread Jim Hughen
I have just completed my first KiCAD Schematic with about 200 parts and an
Atmel mega processor with USB. I can't say enough good about the schematic
tool.

Now, I am starting on PcbNew. What a blast! I just went for the 3D view on a
lark. WOW! just works.

Fun stuff.

Is there a way to change PcbNew's background color to white (or something other
than black)?

Robert,

Can you send me your board file, or a smaller sample that duplicates this
problem please. I may have time to look at this within the next day or so.

1) I guess you expect that the DRC should tolerate a clearance of .3mm in your
case for this pad to pad situation?

2) What [clearance] should be allowed if they are in the same net (the through
hole pad and the smt pad)?

There is if you print instead of plot. For both schematics and boards there
is a print frame ref checkbox (that is on by default) in the print dialog.

So, just un-check the box and do a print to file with a compatible HPGL
printer and you should be good to go.

[kicad-users] 3D PCB displayed with Wings

2009-09-05 Thread Jim Hughen
PcbNew will show a 3d object of the whole PCB using Wings.

Is there a way to save this 3d object (e.g. *.wings) to a file that can then be
shared?

I see how to place the 3D object on the clipboard, but when running wings, I
don't seem to be able to import from the clipboard.

thanks
