[kicad-users] Manual Traces

Thanks for the help. I will familiarize myself with the software more.
I have worked with another CAD system at Photocircuits, but that was a
while ago

If the pins isn't in the netlist, it'll refuse to trace them. To trace un-
netted pins, you have top switch off the DRC.

I strongly(!) advice against using KiCad without the schematic capture and
especially without the DRC switched. It's maybew all right for an old geek but
not for a greenie!

Do take the time and learn/use the schematic capture and netlists. It pays off!

2009-01-08 Thread Pedro Martin
Hi,

It could be the DRC: if the trace doesn't keep the minimum margin, pcbnew
doesn't allow to trace the track.

Or you are trying to connect pads of different nets (try DRC off)

Or just double click to finish the track on the end point.

Pedro.

Please, if someone can help me. I am using Kicad on a Linux OS. I like
to design simple PCBs manually. I am having a problem with laying down
traces. I can not end them or rout them. What setting am I over
looking if any? Please help.

I just down loaded Kicad. I am having trouble with manual routing. It
will not let me stop a trace and rout in another direction and I can
not even end the trace. I tried every thing. I don't want to seem
stupid, but what am I not doing right?
