knotc zone-notify   ...

Also, read the "knotc" man page to learn about the various ways in which
you can control and command knotd.

Hello Jim,

There is no way in Knot DNS 2.4.0 how to force an outgoing NOTIFY message. But 
you could use kdig
instead (kdig -t NOTIFY ...). However, if you used Knot DNS 2.6.5 from Debian 
Stable Backports,
you could use 'zone-notify' knotc command, which is exactly what you are 
looking for.
