Hi all,

Only a bit over a week until KohaCon!

There is page to gather some ideas for topics, presentations, tutorials
and whatever you'd like to see happen regarding the hackfest on the wiki
now:
http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Kohacon13/Hackfest

And if you want to, there is also a wiki page where you can note your

Perhaps try:

apt-get install --reinstall koha-common

This will re-unpack the file, and hopefully give you the missing files.
They certainly should be there.

Robin.

This could easily be done if you are running a virtual machine, but
reading between the lines a little I presume not?

You might consider mastering an .iso of your running hard drive. Google
instructions.

[Koha] Duplicating a running environment

2013-10-04 Thread Steven Nickerson
Hello everyone,

If I have a working 3.12.00.000 environment installed from the Debian
squeeze packages, what is the best way to make an exact, complete duplicate
onto a 2nd machine? Can anyone send me or point me to some step-by-step
instructions? Doesn't have to be complete details, just the general steps
(i.e. install Koha from scratch from the packages, backup MySQL DB, copy
"such-and-such" a directory from the 1st machine to the 2nd and modify
"this" config. File and "that", etc.). Do I have to make sure that the same
version of Koha is installed on the 2nd machine, and if so, how do I force
apt-get to install the 3.12.00.000 version? Or can I copy the existing
Koha directories over from the 1st server to the 2nd and not even do the
install via the packages on the 2nd one?

Hope this makes sense.trying to build a "test" environment AFTER already
having the "production" environment up and running.

Thanks, as always!

Steve

2013-10-04 Thread Viviane Ventura
Version 3.12.05

It should be.. however, when i try:

#apt-get install koha-common

and then

# ls /etc/koha
pazpar2 searchengine sites zebradb

The configurarion files are not being created, and i can not find a reason
to justify this behavior...

Any ideas?

Re: [Koha] Zebra not indexing

2013-10-04 Thread Tom Hanstra
For Koha 3.12.05, what are the versions of Yaz and Zebra which are known
to work? I'm finding that some of the latest combinations are not
working. Is there an "approved" version of each that is known to work
with the latest version of Koha?

Thanks,
Tom

What version of Koha?

On Koha 3.12.5 packages, that file is provided by koha-common

$ apt-file search apache-site.conf.in
koha-common: /etc/koha/apache-site.conf.in

Bernardo

[Koha] Koha 3.12 installation problem

2013-10-04 Thread Viviane Ventura
Hi,

When i try to install a koha instance, the installation stops at this point:

# koha-create --create-db library
sed: can't read /etc/koha/apache-site.conf.in: No such file or directory

It seems that the installation package koha-common is not creating the
configuration files of Apache (or any other configuration file in
/etc/koha).

How can i solve this?

thanks for help.

Thanks, Mark. My problem is that I'm not getting *any* output at all from

basic not working quite right. I just have not been able to track it down yet.

I did, just for test sake, try it as root as well. Nothing that way either.

Out of curiosity, what does ps give you?

me@sandbox:/$ ps aux | grep zebra
koha 1419 0.0 0.0 17124 404 ?SJan29 0:00 daemon
--name=koha-zebra-ctl.koha384 --errlog=/var/log/koha/koha-zebradaemon.err
--stdout=/var/log/koha/koha-zebradaemon.log
--output=/var/log/koha/koha-zebradaemon-output.log --verbose=1 --respawn
--delay=30 --user=koha.koha -- /usr/bin/zebrasrv -v none,fatal,warn -f
/etc/koha/koha-conf.xml
koha 1423 0.0 0.0 103180 5284 ?SJan29 0:59
/usr/bin/zebrasrv -v none,fatal,warn -f /etc/koha/koha-conf.xml

Also, FYI we're using Zebra 2.0.44 with ICU

Good luck - Paul

My install of Koha was from the tarball. For Zebra, I used the CentOS
rpm's. This is all on RHEL6. Tomorrow I'll try compiling Zebra to see if
that might be where the problem lies. Since Koha works but Zebra does
not, that will be my focus.

Greetings,

Thanks, but the user "tanturprod" is the one doing the indexing and it
does have permissions to write to that directory.

Paul's example comes from a tarball installation. This is why he has koha as
user and group. You didn't mention how you installed koha (apt-get install
koha-common, tarball, git) either.

However, his example does lead to the point that the issue is not just
directory permissions alone, but also the files in the directory. If one of
your files has gotten the wrong permissions, a rebuild/reindex won't work,
because it can't recreate/overwrite that file. And if you recreate it as
root, then reindexing won't work on a forward basis.

In my /var/lib/koha/library/biblios directory I have 4 subdirectories:
key register shadow tmp
You only showed register in your email. I have a package installation. Your
path suggests a tarball installation. You only showed one directory. Did you
check all the subdirectories?

Just some further thoughts.

GPML,
Mark Tompsett
