As you all may know, our beloved Koha Release Manager unfortunately
discovered that while he and his family were away, his home was broken into
and his electronics were stolen, including his laptops. Let's see what we
can do to help him replace his stolen electronics!

[Koha] Koha 3.18.04 not clearing the overdue list

2015-04-08 Thread Admire Mutsikiwa
Hi

I have a koha instance that is running. After clearing the overdue list,
the list is still appearing with the same accounts. Could it be that the
scheduling frequency is less frequent? How could I resolve this?

[Koha] keywords to marc mapping

2015-04-08 Thread Gaetan Boisson

 Hello,

i am curious to know whether libraries are using this feature. I have
never used it in any project, because it tries to solve an issue that i
handle with xslt stylesheets. I has been there for a fairly long time
with the promise of adding more keywords yet it hasn't changed much. I
am not even sure i understand what it does.

Anyone using it? and if yes how?

Thanks!

This week we upgraded our distro from squeeze to wheezy.

Now when we try to save a biblio found using Z39.50 search, we get this
 error message:

Byte order is not compatible at /usr/lib/perl/5.14/Storable.pm line 416 at
 /usr/share/koha/intranet/cgi-bin/cataloguing/additem.pl line 401

The message means that Storable is trying to read data that was saved by
a version of Storable configured differently. Usually its something
you'd see moving from one architecture to another. As Storable is not
used for persistant data I'd start by ensuring that cahes etc have been
flushed clean

Re: [Koha] Creating a Z39.50 Target - No connection

2015-04-08 Thread Craig Butosi
Hi all,

Robin, thank you for the clarification about iptables.

After setting the port back to in koha-conf.xml under root (which in
hindsight, I was not doing :( ), and restarting Zebra, I've been able to telnet
to that port successfully using telnet localhost , it shows as being
connected.

Yaz-client also shows the following,

Connecting...OK.
Sent initrequest.
Connection accepted by v3 target.
ID : 81
Name : Zebra Information Server/GFS/YAZ
Version: 4.2.18 cc3abee6f861d0166bef5333b1fc72fbdc8bd94c
Options: search present delSet triggerResourceCtrl scan sort
extendedServices namedResultSets
Elapsed: 0.001692

Also, when navigating to library.craigbutosi.ca:, it displays the
following, which was not there prior to doing the above:

This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated
with it. The document tree is shown below.

zs:explainResponsezs:version1.1/zs:versionzs:recordzs:recordSchemahttp://explain.z3950.org/dtd/2.0//zs:recordSchemazs:recordPackingxml/zs:recordPackingzs:recordDataexplainserverInfohost__ZEBRA_SRU_HOST__/hos

Looks like I'm closer to being up and running.

Many thanks everyone!

Also tried to telnet using sudo telnet localhost:210, to which I get
 the following error
telnet: could not resolve localhost:210/telnet: Name or service not

Your syntax is wrong:

telnet localhost 210

 Three things of note:

 1. I noticed that when checking the iptables, nothing is listed as listening
in on port 210, but port 80 and 8080 are listed (OPAC and Staff Client,
respectively). How would I open port 210 with iptables? I'm not sure what I
 should do.

Ignore iptables, you're likely to make things worse. If the process isn't
listening, no amount of messing with firewall rules is going to make it show
up. iptables --list will show you what rules actually exist.

Also, iptables doesn't tell you about things that are listening anyway.
For that you want:

sudo netstat -lp --inet

I/O warning : failed to load external entity
 /etc/koha/sites/library/__KOHA_CONF_DIR__/zebradb/explain-biblios.xml
21:04:47-07/04 [fatal] Failed to bind to tcp:@:210 [Permission denied]

This is your key thing that you need to be noticing. You don't have permissions
to bind on that port, you need root to bind to ports 1024, so try for a
different number and see if that works.

Re: [Koha] keywords to marc mapping

2015-04-08 Thread Kyle Hall
If I can recall, it's only used for subtitle. Since subtitle is a
repeatable tag, it builds out the subtitle from MARC. XSLT is definitely a
solution, especially since non-xslt views are deprecated. I'd have to grep
through the code since it may be used elsewhere, but we could probably pull
out that entire sub-system and replace it with a single subroutine ( and
maybe a TT plugin ).
