Re: [Koha] Auto spell check in Koha
I noticed that auto spell check in Firefox does not work with Koha. Spell check while cataloguing is very useful. Koha doesn't do anything to disable spell check. In fact Firefox's built in spell check is working fine for me in cataloging. If Firefox isn't spell-checking single-line form fields you might need to change Firefox's configuration: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/uncategorized/quick-tip-spell-check-firefox-text-input-fields/ By default Firefox only spell checks the contents of a textarea multi-line field. -- Owen -- Web Developer Athens County Public Libraries http://www.myacpl.org ___ Koha mailing list http://koha-community.org Koha@lists.katipo.co.nz https://lists.katipo.co.nz/mailman/listinfo/koha

Re: [Koha] Using Authorities with UNIMARC
Michael Kuhn wrote Hi akafortes For the ZEBRA settings I used marcflavor: UNIMARC default laguage: gr indexing: gsr1 I've imported an Authorities file using the Stage MARC records for import interface where of course I selected the file type to be Authorities. When I go to the Authorities menu I can search and find the Authorities I've imported. What I don't know how to do is how do I set a field in a bibliographic framework to use a field from the Authorities records? P.S. the authority file I used contained, in the same file, entries for Personal Names, Geographical Places, Topical Subjects etc. If you are in your bibliographic framework you first choose the MARC field (e. g. 100) then the subfield (e. g. $a). In other options you will find the available thesauri (PERSO_NAME etc). After you have activated one of these thesauri, when cataloging it is only possible to insert values from the respective thesaurus. Hope this helps Kind regards, Michael ___ Koha mailing list http://koha-community.org Koha@.co https://lists.katipo.co.nz/mailman/listinfo/koha Hi Michael, thank you for your reply. I've tried what you suggested but I get no results. I create an authority type, set the appropriate field to copy, use that authority type in the Thesaurus option .When I try to catalogue a biblio record, I get the selector on the field I want and opens the authority search window but no matter what I try to search I get no results. One thing I've noticed, and I don't know if it helps in any way, is that after I've imported the Authorities into Koha from them Stage MARC records tool, and without creating any kind of Authority type, in the biblio framework in the 700 field i.e. this is what the $a subfield looks like http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/file/n5848532/2015-07-30_10_54_39-Koha_%E2%80%BA_Administration_%E2%80%BA_MARC_subfield_structure.png when I open the subfield to edit it there is no option for an authority and of course there is nothing in the Thesaurus option as well. Am I missing something about the use of Authorities? -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/Using-Authorities-with-UNIMARC-tp5848387p5848532.html Sent from the Koha-general mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ___ Koha mailing list http://koha-community.org Koha@lists.katipo.co.nz https://lists.katipo.co.nz/mailman/listinfo/koha
[Koha] Specify due date and offline circulation, overdue fines is not synchronizing.
Greetings! I have this dilemma using koha version 3.20. The scenario is something like this: For some reasons librarian forgot to check-out a overnight book to his patron, lets say the date is 7/29/2015 the overdue of the book is on 7/30/2015. After a day which is 7/30/2015 the librarian recalled that he forgot to check-out the book to his patron. By using the tool *Specify due date* he can change the due date back to 7/29/2015. /Assuming the overdue fines for this item type is 10.00 per day./ Supposedly once the patron returned the book on that same day, koha would automatically synchronize the amount of how much is his overdue fines which is 10.00. However when the librarian check-in the book it did not calculated the fines, the fines is still 0.00. We also tried doing this using *koha offline circulation* by changing the date to 7/29/2015, and has the same result with 0.00 fines. Note we did it test to koha version 3.18 and it works perfectly specify due date and uploading offline circulation synchronized the overdue fines to 10.00. Thank you and best regards! -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/Specify-due-date-and-offline-circulation-overdue-fines-is-not-synchronizing-tp5848598.html Sent from the Koha-general mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ___ Koha mailing list http://koha-community.org Koha@lists.katipo.co.nz https://lists.katipo.co.nz/mailman/listinfo/koha
Re: [Koha] Wrong shortcuts in Koha menu Cataloging

Keyboard Shortcuts Question: Do I have to use my mouse to access the checkout, checkin and cataloging tabs at the top of the circulation pages? Answer: You can jump between the tabs on the quick search box at the top of the screen by using the following hot keys (if the tab is available): jump to the catalog search with Alt+Q jump to the checkout with Alt+U this will not work for Mac user jump to the checkin with Alt+R Note Mac users use the OPTION button in place of ALT On Thu, Jul 30, 2015 at 1:52 PM, Michael Kuhn m...@adminkuhn.ch wrote: Hi There are three shortcuts or hotkeys in the Koha staff client: * Alt + U = Check out * Alt + R = Check in * Alt + Q = Search the catalog As I understand these shortcuts should work all over the staff client, and mostly they do.
