Re: [Koha] Add surname as matchpoint for Import patrons tool
Hi Monisa, the import patrons tool can only match on unique fields where it will only find one or no record to match with currently. These are username, cardnumber and extended patron attributes which have been configured to be unique. Using surname field is not possible at the moment. Hope this helps, Katrin Am 07.08.2015 um 09:53 schrieb Monisa Aslam: is there any possible way. [Koha] Musical Instruments and Catalogs
Hi, Today is my first day using Koha. I want to build a catalog for my library which consist of musical instruments. I noticed that the catalog doesn't have an option for musical instruments and was wondering if anyone had any input on how to build a musical instrument catalog from scratch in Koha. More specifically, I want to add items like Drum Set, Keyboard and Guitar. Re: [Koha] Add new field to Bibliographic Framework
Hi Sergio, I can think of 2 things that might be the reason: make sure that you set the check boxes for visibility (editor especially). You also need to make sure the tab to show them in is not set to ignore. Be careful about 952 - it should be there by default actually and is used for item information in MARC21. So it should not show up in your bibliographic record, but only in the form for adding and editing items. Hope this helps, Katrin Am 04.08.2015 um 20:54 schrieb Sergio Scotto: Hi!, i am having an issue, i just add a new field (952 and 021) to a Bibliographic Framework, but when i try to add a bibliographic record that field is not shown. I have also set the subfields, it's a repeatable field, not mandatory. Do I have to do something more than adding field + subfields? Thx! Re: [Koha] Musical Instruments and Catalogs
You should be able to add item types from the administration area. What you are doing is quite interesting. [Koha] VuFind and Koha
There is little documentation on using Koha with VuFind, I am curious if anyone is currently using VuFind with Koha and if they can give me some guidance. I am currently having issues with VuFind not reflecting holdings status. In addition I am struggling to setup the OAI connector for automated updates. Hi Buddy, On Sat, Aug 8, 2015 at 8:57 AM, Buddy Hale libraryofmusicland...@gmail.com wrote: Hi, Today is my first day using Koha. Great! Welcome aboard :) I want to build a catalog for my library which consist of musical instruments. I noticed that the catalog doesn't have an option for musical instruments and was wondering if anyone had any input on how to build a musical instrument catalog from scratch in Koha. Koha uses MARC21 standard to catalog items. And no, these do not have to be books, in fact people often catalog items like walking sticks, wheelchairs, historical weapons collections and what nots using MARC. As bare essentials, what you need to do is to setup a MARC framework paying close attention to the 00X control fields. This link should help you start off - http://manual.koha-community.org/3.20/en/catadmin.html Mind you the above is a non-trivial exercise which requires an understanding of MARC21 fields, sub-tags and terminology involved as well as their Koha specific dependencies. Unless you are a trained librarian, you may want the help of one to setup MARC side of things for you. Later on using jquery you can setup your intranetuserjs, intranetusercss, opacuserjs and opacusercss system preferences to customize a whole lot of your Koha instance's UI. More specifically, I want to add items like Drum Set, Keyboard and Guitar. http://manual.koha-community.org/3.20/en/basicparams.html#itemtypeadmin The manual is your friend! :) cheers, -- Indranil Das Gupta L2C2 Technologies Phone : +91-98300-20971 Blog: http://indradg.randomink.org/blog IRC : indradg on irc://irc.freenode.net Twitter : indradg -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Please exchange editable Office documents only in ODF Format.
