In current implementation we are just sending e-mail with changes and expect librarians to enter changes through intranet manually from e-mail message (probably to have some kind of verification). I used to have quick dirty change back in Koha 3.1 or so which would also save those changes in database, but then we changed our workflow and moved to newer version, so I never submited them to upstream or ported them to newer version. I have not tested it myself, so I am not sure how it works. But the test plan looks a bit like what you might be looking for: Test Plan - Part 2 - Borrower Modifications 1) Log in to OPAC, go to my personal details tab. 2) Make some modifications to your details. 3) Repeat steps 1 and 2 for two more borrowers. 4) Log in to Koha intranet with a user that can modify borrowers. 5) At the bottom of mainpage.pl, you should see: Patrons requesting modifications: 3 6) Click the link 7) Approve one change, deny a different one, and ignore the third, then submit. 8) Check the records, you should see the changes take affect on the approved one, and no changes to the other two. Hi Chris! I agree with you, implicit typing is not what we want. But the Bug 7854 is open for 6 months and no one proposed a patch. So we have 3 (more?) solutions: 1/ Block this patch and wait for a patch for Bug 7854 (and maybe have side effect, we don't know). 2/ Keep ImplicitTyping for YesNo and remove it for others types. 3/ Considering that a YesNo admits a boolean value rather than a Choice type, it is not logical to have Yes, No and a third value (Yes and No should cover 100% of choices, but here we have a third choice) I think the option 2 is not persuasive. It requires a new layer to parse YAML. For me it sounds good to have not Yes, No and a third choice. Yay! * It looks good overall. My one concern is that it makes the index-daemon the default. As such, I'm not sure if we should be including the patch as is. Oh, and an issue that I just thought of: on pre-existing installations where the user has modified /etc/cron.d/koha-common and so it doesn't get commented out, we will end up running both the indexing cron job and the daemon. Contrib things should not be required dependencies. If we make it a standard thing, then we should pull the required parts into Koha. 2) it puts in a number of unrelated scripts, which are generally useful, but are confusing as they are are in /usr/bin when some of them should be in /usr/sbin, and they don't tend to work in the same way as the packages, which means that if people see they're there, they'll wonder why they don't work like everything else that starts with koha- Other things: * This patch doesn't update control.in, so libkoha-contrib-tamil-perl package will never be installed anyway, and things won't work.
