I think closing this one would be ok - but there is an open issue: because we
only have one session, it's not possible to set different time out times - the
same pref is used for both staff and OPAC. It could still be desirable to
separate the sessions to make this possible.

Why not close this report?
If you want to have separate sessions, use another ip address or domain name.
People who want to have the shared cookie on the other hand, can use the two
ports on the same domain.

I am not sure I fully understand the concerns here. Of course we should take
care not to introduce regressions, but wouldn't it be worth taking a deeper

This just adds one extra path to modulepath. It should not break anything (as
confirmed by one signoff at least).
I would favor passing QA if the non-debian user does not show up in reasonable
time. (Unfortunately I gave up Fedora recently..)

Strange, in circ/circulation.pl the patron's expiration date format suddenly
changes:

Around line 413, before the line my $issue = AddIssue(...

Digging deeper, the value seems to change in C4/Letters.pm
Line 803 (sub _parseletter)
$values->{'dateexpiry'} = format_sqldatetime( $values->{'dateexpiry'} );
