I can confirm this problem. It goes away if you deactivate all the modes - so

I would argue that at the very least it's inconsistent. I can't seem to spin up
a sandbox right now and I'm not going to clone this branch to look, but if I
recall correctly this is global system preference? If I allow item level holds
for certain item types and then have a global preference override that, it may
be a problem. Perhaps if it prompted the staff person first?

That said, this isn't really a serious problem from our perspective.

And I also agree with Kyle on iterative approach. There are definitely
different things we want here (mostly on the UI side), but this is feature that
seems to have been knocking around for a long time. Any step forward is good.

I cannot guarantee that but I think so! The problem with the last 3 (?)
attempts has been that so many people want so many things. We need to work to
limit scope creep. We need to take an iterative approach if more features are
wanted.

Absolutely! This patch set has been available for over half a year now. I
expect anyone still interested in the feature has seen it at this point, but if

Bug 16492 - Checkouts ( and possibly checkins and other actions ) will use the
patron home branch as the logged in library

Bug 14507 introduced the use of checkpw in C4::SIP::ILS::Patron so that
non-Koha internal authentication processes would be able to function via
SIP ( LDAP et al ).

The problem is that checkpw changes the userenv to that of the patron!
This is not usually an issue in Koha because most of the time that
patron running through checkpw is the one to be logged in.

Aside from SIP2 the only other area where this may be an issue is in SCO
when using SelfCheckoutByLogin.

Test Plan:
1) On master, check out an item to a patron via SIP2
2) Note the checkout lists the item as having been checked out
   from the patron's home library not matter which library is was
   supposed to be checked out from.
3) Apply this patch
4) Re-checkout the item
5) The item should now be checked out as if it was checked out from
   the library as defined in the SIP configuration file.

Bug 16692 - Error "No method update!" when creating new serial issue

An improper method call was left over in C4::Serials::NewIssue from the
switch from DBIx::Class to Koha::Object.

Test Plan:
1) prove t/db_dependent/Serials.t
2) Note the errors
3) Apply this patch
4) prove t/db_dependent/Serials.t
5) No errors!

Bug 16678: updatedatabase.pl 3.23.00.006 DB upgrade crashes if

It seems that if subscription_numberpatterns.numberingmethod contains
parentheses, updatedatabase.pl crashes when running the 3.23.00.006 DB upgrade
snippet, with the following error:

Steps to reproduce:
1/ Have a Koha DB version<3.23.00.006
2/ Create a subscription numbering with parentheses in it:
   ie "Vol. (Month, Year)" with pattern
   Vol. {X} ({Y}, {Z})
3/ Add some serials using that numbering method so that serialseq is filled in
DB:
   ie  "Vol. 16 (February, 2015)"
4/ Run the updatedatabase.pl script either from the cli or just start the
webinstaller
5/ The error is produced

To test:
1/ apply patch
2/ try to reproduce this issue once again, should be fixed now
3/ have a look at the code, make sure the changes are consistent

In Scandinavia "more open" (Swedish: "Meröppet", Norwegian: "Meråpent") is a
hot issue at the moment. What this means is that patrons can use their card and
password/PIN to lock themselves into the library even when staff is not around.
Typically, this means that patrons can get access to the library building from
7 am to 11 pm, even if the library is only staffed from 8 am to 5 pm. 

Typically, SIP2 is used to communnicate between the "more open"-system and the
ILS, specifically to authenticate the user with a username and password/PIN. 

Also, you want the ability to turn "more open" access on and off for patrons.
An extended patron attribute with possible values of NULL/empty, 0 or 1 should
serve well for this. 

SIP2 does not have a field for saying "this is a moreopen login", so we need a
way to identify a SIP2 user as a moreopen user. My plan is to add another
attribute to the login element in SIPConfig.xml to achieve this:



"MEROPPET" is then the name of an extended patron attribute which can be set to
NULL or 0 (patron should not have access to moreopen) or 1 (patron should have
access).

This should be flexible enough to allow other, similar schemes to use some
other patron attribute.

Test plan:
1. Confirm that no occurences of this script remains in the code (git grep

Bug 16493 - acq matching on title and author

When you order from a staged file you're getting duplicate warnings that
are inaccurate.  For example, when you order a file of 50 DVDs for
example and they don't have ISBNs they're matching on the books. And
then you have to order them one by one.

This patch replaces the use of FindDuplicates with Koha's match point
system. This means you can select from the same match points defined
and used in the batch record importer, or you can opt to skip matching
altogether!

Test Plan:
1) Import a record with a title, isbn and author.
2) Delete the from the record and stage it again
3) Attempt to add it to a basket via the staged record
4) You should note the gives you the "No records imported" message
5) Apply this patch
6) Create a matcher for ISBN
7) Create a matcher for Author/Title
8) Attempt to add the record to your basket using the ISBN matcher
8) Koha should find no match and import the record to the basket
9) Stage the record again
10) Attempt to add the record to your basket using the Title/Author matcher
11) You should recieve the "No records imported" message.

Bug 16678: updatedatabase.pl 3.23.00.006 DB upgrade crashes if

It seems that if subscription_numberpatterns.numberingmethod contains
parentheses, updatedatabase.pl crashes when running the 3.23.00.006 DB upgrade
snippet, with the following error:

[Mon Jun 6 09:06:54 2016] updatedatabase.pl: Unmatched ( in regex; marked by
<-- HERE in m/ ( <-- HERE / at
/home/koha/kohaclone/installer/data/mysql/updatedatabase.pl line 11498.

Steps to reproduce:
1/ Have a Koha DB version<3.23.00.006
2/ Create a subscription numbering with parentheses in it:
   ie "Vol. (Month, Year)" with pattern
   Vol. {X} ({Y}, {Z})
3/ Add some serials using that numbering method so that serialseq is filled in
DB:
   ie  "Vol. 16 (February, 2015)"
4/ Run the updatedatabase.pl script either from the cli or just start the
webinstaller
5/ The error is produced

To test:
1/ apply patch
2/ try to reproduce this issue once again, should be fixed now
3/ have a look at the code, make sure the changes are consistent

@Jacek although not a 'proper' test nor a 'signoff' (because I cannot easily
degrade the DB version) I would like to share that I've applied your patch in
the appropriate part of the updatedatabase.pl and run the code snippet for
subscriptions that contained parentheses, and everything worked as expected!

Let's hope that someone else will manage to properly signoff your code so that
it goes to QA and put to master (before anyone upgrading to 16.05 faces this
issue)

I'm not sure, that duplication behavior could also be seen as a feature instead
of a bug :) . However, one thing is that this patch only creates default
indicator settings for bibliographic records. The same for authority records is
still a possible future enhancement. Not sure how urgent that would be though,
since in my opinion authority records are usually kept pretty minimalistic in
most setups.

Bug 8956 aka Bug 12375 was not backported to 3.22.x branch; looks like it's
indeed an issue in 16.05 and master, but not in the 3.22?

This patch added a new dependency (Exception::Class, version 1.39) - is version
1.39+ really necessary? Eq., in Debian Jessie, off-the-shelf Exception::Class
is a bit older (1.38).

Upgrade attempt from 3.22.6 -> 16.05.01 (on Jessie, from packages) does not
trigger installation of the more recent version (I guess it's not packaged) -
looks like 1.38 will be listed as unsatisfied dependency after an upgrade?
