I agree we should keep this information in the Wiki instead, and so I am going
to close this bug report. 

My initial purpose for this patch was to continue the educating of new users
when they first set up Koha using the onboarding tool, however this information
will require updating and as you say Katrin it will require decision to be made
on 
what to mention and what not to mention.

No idea about Koha on Stretch. I heard something about it a while ago but I
don't know. 

I'm not touching the database, so MariaDB shouldn't matter.

I suppose it's a bit of a catch-22... you need the dependency for it to pass QA
but the dependency won't be added until the patch passes QA?

You could probably just download the package from
http://debian.koha-community.org/koha/pool/main/libr/librdf-trine-perl/librdf-trine-perl_1.018-1~koha1_all.deb
and try it just for the sake of QA.

When a report is made public, 'cache-expiry' is the number of seconds that the
results will remain cached from the last run -- *except* if this is set to 0,
in which case the cache never expires.

This behavior is *very* confusing to users, who expect the cache to expire
immediately if the expiry is 0, and get exactly the opposite behavior.

This is a frequent support issue -- This should at least be better labeled
(perhaps with a javascript warning?), if we can't find a path toward changing
the behavior.

To re-create:

1) Create a text file containing duplicate barcodes

Here's a quick way to do that, substitute INSTANCE for the instance name of
your test server:

sudo koha-mysql INSTANCE <<< "select barcode from items where barcode is not
null limit 3" | sed '1d;p' > /tmp/dup_barcodes.txt

2) Go to Home › Tools › Batch item deletion
3) Click 'Choose File', select the file you created in step 1.
4) Click 'Continue'
5) Note that duplicate items appear in the list of items to batch delete
6) Check 'Delete records if no items remain'
7) This will trigger a software error

Bug 20388 - Add/delete search fields from search engine configuration page

Test plan:

  - apply this patch,
  - check that SearchEngine system preference is set to Elasticsearch,
  - go to Admin > Search engine configuration,
  - on the search fields tab, fill a new line at the bottom of the table
(name, label, type)
  - click on the "Add" button and save,
  - check that the new search field has been saved,
  - also test field deletions,
  - check that you can't delete already mapped fields.

Bug 20461 : Serials: fix ignored params in subscription creation form

In subscription-add.pl, the two params aren't passed to
NewSubscription() but they are to ModSubscription()

== Test plan ==
1. Enable syspref "makePreviousSerialAvailable"
2. Create a minimal subscription with a value in the "Item type" and
 "item type for older issues" fields.
3. Edit the subscription
4. You should see that the two fields are empty. This is the bug.
5. Apply this patch
6. Do step 2 and 3
7. You should see that the two fields have the right value
8. Express the joy of a successful and easy sign off.
   (this is important, otherwise the sign off spell won't work!)

If you use the system preference FailedLoginAttempts and a patron becomes
blocked after reaching x failed login attempts, the user is prompted to reset
their password. The system preference for OPACresetpassword must be turned on
to allow patron to reset their password.

If a patron experiences an issue resetting their password and needs staff
intervention, it would be helpful to make staff aware that the account has been
locked due to too many failed attempts on the patron’s detail page. 

Staff can click the change password button on circulation.pl or moremember.pl
to reset the password. However, if staff click the edit button on
circulation.pl or moremember.pl to reset the password, it does not change the
password for the patron. 

It would be helpful to prompt staff to use the Change Password link in the
staff UI and/or have the ability to update the password from the edit menu.

Authorities is still patchy with ES for Unimarc.

Nevertheless 100$a is not an empty field in my test sample. The way it is
filled follows most french university libraries common rules (sudoc :
http://documentation.abes.fr/sudoc/formats/unmb/zones/100.htm) which for this
part... are not compliant to the Unimarc standard... It has 24 characters where
Unimarc says it should have 35...

Bug 20446 Revert to using syspref for item creation

Using a per-basket setting is nonsensical when baskets
are created automatically by quote processing a few lines before
this attempts to read it. cron job aborts with a runtime error
leaving basket for quote half-created.
This reverts to the previous code using the global setting.
(Basket itself will have been set to the global setting
by default)

Bug 18816: Make CataloguingLog work in production by preventing circulation
from spamming the log

The system preference CataloguingLog is not recommended for use in
production. This is do to the fact that every checkin and checkout
generates one or more log entires. This seems to be not only bad
behavior, but unnecessary and outside the needs of CataloguingLog as we
have CirculationLog.

Test Plan:
1) Log into staff client
2) Home -> Koha administration -> Global system preferences -> Logs
3) Set only CataloguingLog to 'Log', everything else to "Don't log"
4) Click 'Save all Logging preferences'
5) In MySQL, use your instance DB, and then type 'delete from action_logs;'
6) Have a person checkout and checkin anything.
7) In MySQL, 'select * from action_logs;'
   -- there will be data. This is the floodiness that will be removed.
8) Apply this patch
9) Repeat steps 5-7
   -- there should be no data.
10) Edit any biblio or item.
11) In MySQL, 'select * from action_logs;'
-- there should be data reflecting the changes made.
12) run koha qa test tools

Add alternative optimized indexing for Elasticsearch

How to test:
1) Time a full elasticsearch re-index by running the rebuild_elastic_search.pl
   with the -d flag: `koha-shell  -c "time
rebuild_elastic_search.pl -d"`.
2) Enable ExperimentalElasticSearchIndexing system preference
   (found under Global System preferences -> Administration -> Search Engine).
3) Time a full re-index again, it should be about twice at fast (for a
   couple of thousand biblios, with fewer biblios results may be more
   unpredictable).

Ergonomic suggestion:
  - move the the facet table in a new tab (discussed with some interested
libraries). Currently it is not visible at the first glance.

QA suggestion:
  - rename bug_x.sql with the appropriate bug number,
  - add unit test for get_facetable_fields

Bug 18382: (QA follow-up) Replace ->ymd by ->datetime

The first patch makes Hold.t fail on:
not ok 8 - Hold is suspended with a date, truncation takes place automatically
   Failed test 'Hold is suspended with a date, truncation takes place
automatically'
   at Hold.t line 94.
  got: '2018-03-22'
 expected: '2018-03-22T00:00:00'

We could remove the midnight time there, but we also could replace ymd by
datetime. The cpan doc tells us:
Same as $dt->ymd('-') . 'T' . $dt->hms(':')

Test plan:
With this patch, run Hold.t again. It should pass now.

Bug 18382: action_logs entry for module HOLDS, action SUSPEND is spammy

When a hold is suspended, 'suspend_until' is represented as a DateTime object,
complete with locale. All told, this is about 800 lines of text.

Test Plan:
1) Enable the HoldsLog syspref
2) Add a hold on a record/item
3) Suspend the hold with a date to resume
4) Note the massive amount of date in the suspend_until field
5) Apply this patch
6) Suspend another hold with a date to resume
7) Note the log has an acutal date in the suspend_until field

Check the logs using module 'Holds' and Action 'Suspend'

Debian Jessie. Do we support Koha on Stretch? No problems when switching to
MariaDB?
I have not tested the unstable repo very recently, but last time I tried it did

No problem in uploading a cover image file on current master here.
