What Katrin describes is not related to this bug report. It's very weird and I
have no idea where it's coming from.
I think there is still something wrong with this patch however. The
is_valid_date does not work as we are expecting. We used to have an alert if
the date was wrong.
The following change will restore the historical behaviour:

However, when "emailpro" was "Work email", a lot of people preferred to use it instead of "email" which was "Home email". The change of "email" to "Primary email" and "emailpro" to "Secondary email" was biased towards public and academic libraries, which left a lot of special libraries in the lurch. To recreate:
-Set MaxOpenSuggestions to something low, like 1.
-Make some suggestions via the API, making sure they are not anonymous and they
include a status of 'ASKED'.
-You can make as many requests as you want, regardless of MaxOpenSuggestions.
I am using this simple jQuery snippet to test:

But with the new patron search, it does not. It would be handy to retain this information. We have use for this information.
