Update the suggestion to accepted and add a reason with an apostrophe 2.1. In the suggestions list, check the box next to the suggestion 2.2. When the authorised value category is allocated to a biblio framework subfield, its values, plus it's parent's values, will show as possible options for that subfield in the cataloguing biblio editor. To test: 1) Install database updates and restart services. You may also need to rebuild schema files to capture the change to the database. 2) Go to Koha Administration -> Authorised Values. Notice the table listing authorised values now has a 'Parent category' column. 3) Click the button to add a New category. Notice there is a 'Parent category' dropdown available to set, containing all of the existing authorised value categories. Give your new category a name (for eg, CHILD), and choose any parent category (perhaps LANG). Save. 4) Add a value or set of values to your new category CHILD. 5) Once saved, go back to the main Authorised Values page and confirm your new category CHILD is showing with the correct parent category in the 'Parent category' column. 6) Go to Koha Administration -> MARC bibliographic frameworks. 7) Click the Actions dropdown for the Default framework and click on MARC structure. 8) Search for a tag and click the Actions dropdown, then choose Edit subfields. For example if testing with the LANG authorised value category, choose the 041 tag and Edit its subfields. 9) Go to the 'a' subfield tab. Go down to 'Other options (choose one)' and assign your new category CHILD to the Authorised value setting. Save. 10) Go to Cataloguing and add a new record using the default framework. 11) Go to the tag your just edited, i.e. the 041 tag. Click the dropdown to open it. 12) Confirm a heading for your new category CHILD shows with its authorised value(s) listed below it as selectable options. Confirm that the parent category i.e. LANG shows underneath, with its authorised value(s) listed below as selectable options. 13) Confirm you are able to choose a value from either list and save the record as normal. This enhancement also adds an AUSTLANG authorised value category which can be used for the Austlang data. To test: 1) Check the documentation for the script is clear and accurate perldoc misc/cronjobs/download_austlang_for_authvalues.pl 2) Run the script with the verbose flag to see an error. You should see the error "No AUSTLANG authorised value category found." ./misc/cronjobs/download_austlang_for_authvalues.pl -v 3) Install the database update and confirm in Koha Administration -> Authorized values that the AUSTLANG category exists, with no values in it 4) Run the script with a fake URL to see the error "Error accessing data." ./misc/cronjobs/download_austlang_for_authvalues.pl -v --url 'bad-url' 5) Run the script normally. Hammat rebased it so that we can have it working for the latest version (us, Collecto, and anyone else interested), but I don't think any serious change will be made to our solution without a clear path to Passed QA. The person in charge will rebase it again in a few months and put it as "Need signoff" out of habit. Currently, jQuery to be used on a custom page must be put into one of the UserJS system preferences. Those system preferences tend to include a lot of code saved as one long block. It'd be great to be able to keep custom page code separate. For contrast, one can just put CSS straight into a page and have it work correctly. Thank you Julian, my solution fixed the reported issue but broke functionality
as you've described.
I was able to reproduce the issue my patch introduced, tested your suggestion
and confirmed it fixes it.

Create a suggestion 1.1. Go to Acquisitions > Suggestions 1.2. Click New purchase suggestion 1.3. Enter a title 1.4. Click Submit your suggestion 2. Update the suggestion to accepted and add a reason with an apostrophe 2.1. In the suggestions list, check the box next to the suggestion 2.2. At the bottom of the screen, choose Mark selected as: Accepted 2.3. In With this reason, choose Others... 2.4. Enter a reason with an apostrophe (my case was in French : Disponible en impression à la demande (POD). S'attendre à un long temps d'attente) 2.5. Click Submit 3. Order the suggestion 3.1. Go to Acquisitions 3.2. Search for a vendor 3.3. Click New > Basket 3.4. Enter a basket name (Optional: for testing I like to change Create items when: cataloging the record) 3.5. Click Save 3.6. Click Add to basket 3.7. Click From a suggestion 3.8. Click Order next to the suggestion 3.9. Enter order details 3.10. Click Save 3.11. Click Close basket 3.12. Click Yes, close 4. Receive the order 4.1. Click Receive shipments 4.2. Enter a Vendor invoice number 4.3. Click Next 4.4. Click Receive next to the order --> Page stays In processing forever Apply patch. Repeat. Notice the page now renders correctly. Extra: Add an entry containg an apostrophe to the SUGGEST authorized values category and repeat test plan. Confirm everything works as expected.
