The notifications send 1 minute before the event (the due date), which is midnight. What about the 2022-06-23 due date showing up on 2022-06-22? Setting no DTEND nor DURATION makes the start and end times coincident, or a zero-duration event. That would be acceptable. "Up!" is due at no specific time (23:59:59). My calendar thinks the 8PM event spans 24 hours. Google Calendar seems to do the same.
