KR> RSA Mixture Meters

I took all kinds of things to SA when I moved there in 1991, thinking I would never find such things in such a "remote" part of the world. I eventually came across, usually in JHB, every single wierd thing I had brought with me. I'll bet you've not only got them, but got better ones than we have here. And of course, they'll cost more since they're probably imported from Germany or the UK and the import duties are ridiculous. But I wouldn't be at all surprised to find somebody making them there in SA if you network a little more. Mike Lose up to 20 lbs in one month with a new diet. I have had 2 KR passed by the FAA or DAR with the plate under the Horizontal Stabilizer. I think that Christine engines is in Donalds SC. I bought a VW case from Pat, many years ago, for my first KR. That is when I converted it from an 1835 to a 1915, on his suggestion. At that time Pat was making 1/2 VW engines. He built a foundry out back, behind his shop, where he would cast the back plate for the engine. His wife's name was, maybe still is, Christine, and he had her name molded into that plate. I thought he had gotten out of the aero engine business due to his lawyers insistence that he would lose everything if someone had an issue with one of his engines. This is what I get when I Google Christine Engines: Christine Areo Engines 361 Highway 178 S Donalds, SC 29638 864-379-8677 Maybe I will give him a call and see if he is back in the Aero Engine business. KR> Back in the AIR
After finding a sticky exhaust valve, I completed a top overhaul, (Done by VW Engines Aust) thanks guys, and my 2nd Annual inspection,(203 hours) and test flight late yesterday. While I had the heads off, and found larger carbon depots in the heads, they also supplied new rings. Now all I need to do is to get it to run hot enough? It rarely gets to, or over 300f. I will be reducing the air outlet next to see what happens, but I'm waiting on a new CHT probs. SO, I'll just fly around today, bedding in the new rings. KR> Gathering weather
I just did a search for a 30 day weather forecast for Gathering weather and don't like the looks of their prediction. :-( Lets hope they are wrong by a week or so. We've had five years of acceptable weather. Let's hope it holds. Larry Flesner

I think the reg's say they must be to the rear of the entry to the cockpit or something like that. Somewhere in the reg's it specifies. Someone will come up with chapter and verse. :-) Larry Flesner
KR> Gathering awards
Gathering attendees / netters, I'd like some opinions on just how the awards for KR judging at the Gathering should be handled. In the past we have had several KR's that won most, if not all, categories and took home all the "bacon". Some have expressed an opinion that the awards should be "spread around" with no single KR receiving them all. Please post me an e-mail to fles...@verizon.net and not back to the net. I'll see what the consensus of opinions are and take them in to consideration while making a decision. I'll keep my opinion to myself for now. Thanks.. Larry Flesner

KR> Was CHT , Now Mixture Meter
Hi Mark I went to the Sid's presentation at Oshkosh and would like to fit one in each of my KR2's but can not get the stuff here in South Africa. Can you, or somebody willing, make up all the pieces and sell it to me? Including the indicator. However, I have heard that they won't last very long when used with leaded fuels. Of course that may not be a problem for much longer, but for now it still is. I'll direct the question to Sid or others using the meter Do the mixture meters have a longevity issue when used with leaded fuels such as 100LL? Thanks in advance for your answer.
