KR> POSA to Ellison TB

2011-11-18 Thread Dave_A
I'm looking at replacing the POSA carb on my plane with an Ellison TBI.
Main reason for doing this is that I want mixture control, due to the
environment I'll be flying in when I get the plane home (WA state...).
Other reason is the well-known POSA reputation for 'problems'.

Managed to get the TBI for $200, along with a 'for some VW conversion'
intake manifold (looks to be updraft, so I won't be using it) & a primer
system of some sort...

I assume I'll be able to use the same throttle cable as the POSA, but
now I need to add a mixture - will the 'Cessna-type' mixture cable work,
or do I need to use something different?

What's the most common way these end up set up?

KR> RE: Fuel tank pick up and vent

2011-11-18 Thread Dan Heath
There is much more than you want to know at:
http://krbuilder.org/ConvertingToWingTanks/index.html

But the vent line and fuel pick up are in there. The actual vent is simply
a bulkhead fitting with one end cut off at an angle and fit through the
bottom of the wing. I can take a pic of that if you like. I copied it from
what the RV guys do. Also, the fuel pickup is a copy of the way it is done
on the RV.

See N64KR at http://KRBuilder.org - Then click on the pics
See you at the 2012 - KR Gathering in Mt. Vernon, Il – MVN – 40th

There is a time for building and it never seems to end.
